Gettin’ Hygge With It: Comfy and Cozy Game Night

Tap into the Scandinavian concept of keeping comfy and cozy with our upcoming Gettin’ Hygge With It Game Night. Pop on those pajamas and join us for a night of cozy games, comfy outfits, warm hugs, and a super-sweet build-your-own hot chocolate bar!

This celebration of all things snuggly is happening from 5 PM to 10 PM on Sunday, January 18th, at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe. It’s free to attend – all you need to do is show up ready to escape those Midwest winter doldrums. 

If you’re not familiar, hygge is the Danish and Norwegian term representing a “cozy, contented mood evoked by comfort and conviviality” and “embodies a sense of coziness, simplicity, and being present”. In other words, the ultimate sense of the warm fuzzies.

Guests are encouraged to wear their comfiest clothes (pajamas, oversized sweaters, and sweatpants welcome) and BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket).

We’ll have some of our coziest games on feature, though you’re welcome to play whatever games off our shelves that give you that hygge feeling.

You’ll also find an event-exclusive special on the menu: Build-Your-Own Hot Chocolate. We’ll pour you a mug of our deliciously decadent hot chocolate, and you’ll be able to hit up our toppings bar to top off your beverage with anything from marshmallows to whipped cream to crushed peppermint and more.

As if that weren’t enough, we’ll also have Free Mom Hugs on hand, providing relaxing activities and as many warm hugs as you can handle.

Again, Gettin’ Hygge With It is free to attend and participate in, though there is a $5 PlayPass fee on Sundays starting at 4 PM. No tickets or registration required.
