King of Tokyo National Qualifier Tournament

Run straight to the Rook Room that is! We’re partners for the official King of Tokyo: Godzilla USA Championships. As they celebrate the release of the Godzilla edition of King of Tokyo, you will notice new monsters bringing new fun to your favorite dice-rolling, monster-fighting game.
All attendees will also receive a 10% off coupon for our King of Tokyo Poptail!
Roll your dice all the way to the National Championships at Gen Con this summer by competing in one of two tournaments in May. You may only attend one tournament date. The two dates allow those unavailable one date a second option.
The top two scorers at each date will be invited to the local final on May 30, 2026. This game of four will result in a winner of the Rook Room tournament that will move on to the National Championships on August 1, 2026, at Gen Con in Indianapolis.

Rook Room King of Tokyo 2026 Tournament Dates
Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 6PM to 9PM
Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10AM to 1PM
Fast Facts about the King of Tokyo Tournament:
- Tournament Format: This tournament will utilize Swiss Format. This means there is no direct elimination if you lose a game. Games will be played with 3-4 players exactly and will be matched to ensure balanced and fair play.
- Play Experience: There is no required level of experience to participate in the King of Tokyo tournament.
- Tournament Prizes: All participants of the Rook Room tournament will receive one button and one promo card. The top 4 from each tournament date will receive an additional Promo Monster.
- Advancing to the Final: Two players from each tournament will advance to the local final.
- Local Final Tournament (Top 4): The local final will take place on Saturday May 30 at 10AM. There is no additional fee for the four individuals who qualify for the final.
- Local Tournament, Final Prize: The winner of the local tournament final will receive a pre-release copy of King of Tokyo: Godzilla to prepare for the National Championship! They will also receive the following: one entry ticket to compete at Gen Con (Saturday 1st August), one National or Promo Monster, two promo cards, and one button.
- Moving on to Nationals: The winner of the local final on May 30 at 10AM at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe will be invited to compete at the National Tournament at Gen Con on August 1, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana. An entry ticket to Gen Con is included in the final prize, but travel, lodging, and food expenses are not included.
