Creating a safe, welcoming community for LGBTQIA+-identifying individuals of all ages over a shared love of gaming while celebrating the diversity of games, creators, and players.
Prism Tabletop Club is a monthly LGBTQIA+ board gaming meetup group celebrating the diversity of the gaming community.
The goal of Prism is to create a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA-identifying individuals of all ages in order to build a lasting, supportive community connecting over a shared love of games on a regular, monthly basis. We encourage you to gather, play games, slay dragons, piece together puzzles, hang out and meet new friends!
As a completely LGBTQ-owned business, The Rook Room is excited to help arrange and sponsor the Prism Tabletop Club, but this group was created as a community group. Meaning gaming meetups will always be free to attend, accessible, welcoming, and, most importantly, a collaborative effort for anyone wanting to help plan, coordinate, and run future game nights.
Meetups will be planned with a specific focus on LGBTQIA-owned, operated, affirming, or supportive area businesses, venues, vendors, and organizations. We want to support the people who support us.
If you’re interested in helping out, we welcome you to attend a meetup and say hello. We’d love to get to know you!
While The Rook Room is supporting the formation of the Prism Tabletop Club, the goal is for the group and the community it helps to build to grow as an independent affinity gaming group.
Here at The Rook Room, we promise to continue to support Prism’s growth in whatever ways can and we encourage you to lend your support as well!
If you’re a business, venue, organization, vendor, or individual excited about an LGBTQIA+ gaming community in the Des Moines area, consider joining in the fun. Whether you’d like to offer up your space for a meetup, donate refreshments, help spread the word, plan a game night, or any number of other options, please feel free to reach out.
This is a community built by members of the LGBTQIA+ community FOR the LGBTQIA+ community and we can’t wait to build and grow together.
