Calling all Go players – join us for the Central Iowa Go Tournament on Saturday, March 11th at the Urbandale Public Library.
The Iowa Go Society will be running the tournament in partnership with The Rook Room. All skill levels are welcome and there will be both a beginner’s tournament as well as a tournament for experienced players.

The tournament runs from 10:00 AM t 5:00 PM with check-in starting at 9:00 AM. Here’s a schedule for the event:
9:00 AM – Check-In
10:00 AM – Round 1
11:30 AM – Round 2
1:00 PM – Lunch
2:00 PM – Round 3
3:30 PM – Round 4
5:00 PM – Results and Prize Presentation
Pre-registration and up-to-date AGA membership is required. The cost is $20 per entry. AGA rules will apply. Handicap: rating diff -2. 30+30(5) time controls. 4 rounds in total. Cash prizes for the tournament winners.

The beginner’s tournament will be a self-pair 9×9 unranked tournament. Registration and play are open until 3:30 PM for this event. Walk-ins are welcome. Players will play at their own pace. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers including Go Magic premium memberships.
Games will be played to the first 10 captures, White starts with 2 captures, no passing, and players will play to completion or resignation.
