Word Nerds Game Night + Confluence Beer Tasting

Is your favorite book the dictionary? Are you constantly correcting your friends’ spelling and grammar? Do you consider yourself a word nerd? Word Nerds Game Night is for you!
Ok, even if you haven’t taken home the gold at the world championship spelling bee, you’re still in for an awesome night of fun word games, a little friendly competition, food, drinks, and prizes! Plus, Confluence Brewing Company will be there handing out beer tastings free with your registration (as long as you’re old enough).
We’ll have a ton of word-based games on hand including favorites like:
- Scrabble
- Bananagrams
- Upwords
- Words With Friends
- Boggle
- Letter Jam
- Codenames
- Scattergories
- And More!
While you’re challenging your friends (or making some new ones) to any of these, we’ll have some special bonus rounds for exciting prizes. Once per hour, we’ll be challenging you to a lighting round word game (crosswords, word scrambles, word searches) with prizes for the top contenders!
Word nerding out works up quite an appetite, so we’ll have food and drinks on hand including coffee drinks, beer, wine, pastries, personal pan pizzas, and don’t forget about those Confluence beer tastings!
And because Scenic Route Bakery and The Rook Room love giving back, a portion of the proceeds for the night will be going to support programming with our friends over at the Franklin Avenue Library here in Des Moines.
So join us for a night or word nerd fun at Scenic Route Bakery on Saturday, January 25th from 6 PM to 9 PM. All ages are welcome, so bring the whole family and stay as long as you want.
