Cards for Humanity Charity Card Games Tournament

Calling all card sharks – show off your skills and snag the top spot in our charity Team Spades and UNO Tournaments!
We’re partnering with The Supply Hive and Peace Tree Brewing to raise money to benefit The Supply Hive’s efforts to build community and help provide for marginalized communities.
Join us Thursday, October 13th at Peace Tree Brewing Des Moines Branch to take part in our Teams Spades Tournament, UNO Tournament, or both (might as well, right?!). The event will run from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM with Spades starting at 6:00 PM and UNO beginning at 8:00 PM.
We’ll be kicking off the night with our Teams Spades Tournament at 6:00 PM. Two teams of two will face off against each other to be the first to reach 500 points OR have the higher score when the round time limit runs out. Each round will last 15 minutes. This will be a round-robin style tournament, so no eliminations and no downtime – you play the full two hours until we crown our first-place team at 8:00!
Starting at 8:00, we’ll jump into our UNO tournament. It’s every player for themselves in this tournament, with tables of four laying cards, reversing, skipping, and drawing their way to victory. Each table will play until someone wins or when the 10-minute round is up. We’ll collect scores and it’s on to the next game. This tournament is also round-robin style, so there’s not a time when you’re not playing and having fun. The player with the most points at the end of the 2-hour tournament will be declared the winner!
Winners of each tournament as well as runners up will snag some awesome prizes courtesy of The Supply Hive, Peace Tree Brewing, and The Rook Room!
Peace Tree Brewing will be serving up its delicious brews and root beer all night, so come thirsty.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to The Supply Hive to further its mission of providing for marginalized communities by filling up the Supply Library with essential items and supply fridges/pantries with food resources. Learn more about The Supply Hive’s mission by visiting its website.
Registration Costs
Team Spades Tournament Only: $15 per team of two
UNO Tournament Only: $5 per player
Team Spades Tournament AND UNO Tournament: $20 per team of two
