All About Game League

Game League is a friendly, team-based board game competition for every skill level at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe. Eight teams of four compete over eight sessions: a welcome event, six game nights, and an end-of-season celebration party.

Each game night, your teammates spread out across four different games and earn points for the team. Every team that finishes the season gets a commemorative enamel pin, a certificate, and an invite to the party, where the top three teams take home trophies.

Game League FAQ

How do I sign up?

Click here or the button above to register through our Square page. You can sign up solo, with one or two friends, or as a full team of four. We’ll fill any open spots with other players, and new teammates meet at the welcome event.

If you already have a team, register everyone together. Registration is capped at 32 players, and we can’t add spots for teammates who miss out.

What’s included in the $65 registration?

You get a guaranteed spot on a team, a commemorative enamel pin, a certificate, free food and drinks at the end-of-season celebration party, and a shot at one of three trophies. A staff member is at every session to keep play fair. All registrations are final, with no refunds.

What do “season” and “session” mean?

A season is one full run of the league (S2 is Season 2). A session is one league night (S2:S3 is Season 2, Session 3).

How does scoring work?

Players at each table are ranked by how they finish:

Your team’s score for the night is the total of all four players’ points.

Who plays which game?

You decide! At the welcome event, each team fills out a sheet that assigns its players to tables for all six game nights.

What happens at the welcome event?

You’ll meet your team, pick your tables, go over logistics, and get your questions answered by staff. At least two players from each team must attend.

What happens on game nights?

Arrive by 6 PM and find your assigned table. When your table finishes one full game, a staff member records the scores. League play wraps at 8 PM, but you’re welcome to stay and keep playing until we close at 10 PM.

What if I have to miss a session?

When you register, you’re committing to the full schedule or to finding a substitute for any session you miss. If something comes up, you have two options:

Either way, let your team and the Rook Room know ahead of time.

What happens at the end-of-season celebration party?

We celebrate with food, free soda, and a photo booth. The awards ceremony hands out pins, certificates, and trophies for the top three teams. We’ll also reveal the Season 3 games, and Season 2 players get early access to register.
