Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons: Session One with Des Moines Public Library Central Branch
April 6 - 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Get ready to dive into adventure! The Rook Room is partnering with the Des Moines Public Library Central Branch for a series of Dungeons & Dragons events where you’ll learn to play, learn to run a campaign, and even play a one-shot game.
This series is geared toward older teens and adults and is different than our Learn to Slay Series with the Franklin Avenue Branch. Each session will begin at 5:30 PM and last about two hours. Here’s what you can expect for each session:
Session One, April 6th: Introduction to D&D for players. We will go over character creation, basic skills, combat, role-playing, and more.
Session Two, April 20th: How to be a dungeon master. We will learn the basics of running a D&D campaign as a dungeon master including creating a campaign, DM tools and resources, leading players, role-playing, common issues, and more.
Session Three, May 18th: Now that you know how to play, let’s jump into a campaign! Along with some skilled dungeon masters, we’ll be playing through a quick one-shot campaign. Whether you want to give D&D a try, start a new campaign with your friends, or even make some new friends, join us for a night of adventure!
It is not necessary to come to each session – register for whichever sessions sound useful to you!
These events are FREE but registration is required and can be done here:
Feel free to reach out to email@example.com with any questions and we hope to see you there!
