Have you ever wanted to slay a dragon, raid a dungeon treasure room, or even save a village from an evil bandit horde? Join us as we learn the basics of how to get started and play Dungeons & Dragons.
We will learn everything from character creation, to combat, to the basics of storytelling, and more through the course of four sessions – February 7th, February 21st, March 7th, and March 21st. Each session starts at 4 PM and lasts about an hour.
The March 7th session will focus on combat, weapons, and spells. No experience necessary.
This program will include doing some simple math, some mild violence, and imagination. There will be some time following the program to ask questions and meet others interested in D&D.
This series is open to youth ages 12-18 and only requires a one-time registration. Each session will build on the information presented at previous sessions, so please plan on attending as many sessions as possible to build on your D&D knowledge.
Attending previous sessions is recommended but not required. If you missed any, we’ll get you caught up!
All sessions are free and take place in person at the Des Moines Public Library Franklin Avenue Branch at 5000 Franklin Avenue starting at 4 PM.
