The Gamicon Catan Tournament
Friday, February 28, 2020 to Sunday, March 1, 2020
Do you love Catan? Get ready to build, settle and trade (or steal) your way to victory as The Rook Room hosts the Gamicon Catan Tournament!
Players will participate in three rounds: preliminaries, semi-finals, and finals. The preliminaries will be a series of three separate games of base Catan. The top 16 players will move to the semi-finals. Semi-finalists play a single game and the winner of each table will advance to the finals. Finalists play a single game of Catan.
We will be using the 5th Edition of the game for the tournament. We will have some copies of the game on hand, but players may also bring their own copy though it MUST be 5th edition to qualify.
Entry is free. Preliminaries will be held Saturday with semi-finals and finals taking place Sunday.
Note: If a minimum of 16 players over the age of 18 take part in the tournament, it will count as a qualifier for the 2020 Catan National Tournament at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio this summer. Want a chance at going to nationals? Be sure to invite your friends to sign up so we can hit the 16-player minimum threshold set by the Catan organization!
